The New York Islanders are in need of some luck from the Hockey Gods after dropping three straight games.
And they may have just received some as a schedule change may give them a leg up on a struggling Chicago Blackhawks team Friday night.
On Wednesday, the NHL announced that the Blackhawks vs. Buffalo Sabres game scheduled for Wednesday night on TNT has been postponed and will be played Thursday night due to travel restrictions with the weather.
That means the Blackhawks, who have lost their last four games, will have to play the Islanders on the second of a back-to-back.
While two points are needed from the Islanders against the Blackhawks to salvage the final game of a four-game trip -- and anything but two points would be an utter failure -- any advantage is helpful.
