New York Islanders top prospect Cole Eiserman kept his strong collegiate freshman campaign going on Friday night, scoring two goals against Merrimack College in a 6-3 win.

With Boston University trailing 3-2 after the second period, Eiserman tied the game at 4:23 of the third period:

Then, at 11:52 of the third period, Eiserman gave his team a 4-3 lead for his second multi-goal performance of the season in what became a 6-3 win.

Eiserman now has 13 points (nine goals, four assists) in 12 games this season. Per Boston University Hockey Stats, the 18-year-old has scored in six of seven home games, averaging a goal per game at Agganis Arena.

Eiserman's 0.75 goals per game ranks fifth in the nation, with his nine goals ranking fourth. His 13 points are tied for the team lead with teammate Shane Lachance.

Here’s what Eiserman's head coach, Jay Pandolfo, had to say about his young forward's game:

"He's been really good for us. Clearly, he has a gift to score goals, and he loves scoring goals. I think what we've been impressed with as a staff is how hard he competes on every shift. He's really hard on the puck. He's good on the forecheck. I've been really impressed with him, and he really cares, like he really cares. He takes it to heart when we don't do well as a team. He puts a lot of responsibility on his own shoulders, probably too much at some points. But he's been excellent. He's been better than I think we even thought. I just think his overall competitiveness has been really good."

Eiserman leads his team in points and all rookies in goals this season.

He was drafted 20th overall in 2024 by the Islanders; who knows when he’ll be Long Island bound.

However, the Islanders need a goal scorer, and he seems like someone who can solve that crucial problem.
