Hall of Fame goaltender Martin Brodeur named Ilya Sorkokin one of his top five active goalies.
On Friday, Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Martin Brodeur made a list of his top five active goalies in the NHL.
New York Islanders netminder Ilya Sorokin (17-12-11, 3.14 GAA, .909 SV%) made the list, along with Tampa Bay Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy (19-14-0 record, 2.98 GAA, .896 SV%), New York Rangers' Igor Shesterkin (24-12-1, 2.74 GAA, .907 SV%), Vegas Golden Knights' Adin Hill (14-5-2, 2.27 GAA, .927 SV%), and Calgary Flames' Jacob Markström (19-15-2, 2.58 GAA, .914 SV%):
Sorokin sits in fourth place on Brodeur’s top five list in terms of wins and save percentage, sitting fifth in GAA.
The Islanders' No. 1 backstop has faced the most shots across the NHL with 1,366, which is 77 more than Nashville Predators' Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators, who has faced the second most at 1,289.

Saros has the third most saves in the NHL at 1,165, 78 fewer shots than Sorokin.
Being named to Brodeur’s top five active goalies list is a huge honor.
Brodeur played 22 seasons in the NHL, with 21 of them being with the New Jersey Devils, where he hoisted three Stanley Cups.
