For the second-straight game, the Railers couldn’t crack the Everblades, falling 3-1 on Friday night.

Islanders Shut Out 4-0 By Blues

ESTER, FL -- The Worcester Railers, the New York Islanders ECHL affiliate, couldn’t keep up with the Florida Everblades in the middle game of their three-game visit to Hertz Arena, falling 3-1.

The Everblades are the Florida Panthers ECHL affiliate.

Worcester had their legs to begin the game and got the game’s first goal. Off the offensive zone draw, Anthony Repaci and Anthony Callin got Worcester set up, giving the puck to Trevor Cosgrove.

The defenseman let a shot go that beat Florida’s David Tendeck, giving the Railers a 1-0 lead at 5:37 of the frame.

However, Florida got better as the period went on and ultimately got the game tied.

Brett Davis helped Kyle Neuber set up on the left side, who dished to Evan Boucher in the high slot. Boucher wired a one-time shot past John Muse, tying it at one just one tick shy of the 15-minute mark.

The Railers outshot the Everblades 12-11 in the frame.

The second period remained tied for the first 19 minutes, despite the Everblades getting good looks. However, after Worcester's third penalty of the frame, the Everblades took the lead. Cam Darcy finished a tic-tac-toe passing play from Sean Josling and Joe Pendenza at 19:36, giving Florida a 2-1 lead after two.

After the power play chances and some Railer turnovers, Florida outshot Worcester 16-10 in the middle frame.

Florida outshot Worcester 14-9 in the final period, but it came down to special team shortcomings. Worcester couldn't convert on two power-play chances in the frame, including one inside the final three minutes, to seal an 0/4 night on the man advantage.

After their final chance, a turnover allowed Pendenza to seal the deal on an empty netter, finishing a 3-1 Everblades win.
