Round One Of Islanders' 2027-28 Third Jersey Competition Is Now Open

Eight bold finalists face off in a head-to-head bracket to define the team's future look. Cast your vote now to crown the next iconic orange sweater.

On Tuesday morning, the New York Islanders announced the eight finalists for their 2027-28 third-jersey competition.

Narrowed down from over 80,000 global submissions, these final eight fan-designed concepts now face a bracket-style gauntlet to determine the next iconic look for Isles Nation.

Voting for round one, which will be done in a head-to-head format, is now open as of 12 PM ET on Wednesday. It's a battle of the designs:

Round One of the voting comes to a close on Aug. 14 at 5 PM ET, with Round Two beginning Aug. 15 through Aug. 17.

While we will likely hear stories about all the final eight designs, I sat down with Evan Barcia, 26, from Selden, New York, to talk about his design: the orange sweater with the "NY".
