After morning skate concluded at Northwell Ice Center, Sebastian Aho joined the New York Islanders extras.
EAST MEADOW, NY -- New York Islanders defenseman Sebastian Aho hadn't rejoined his teammates since suffering an upper-body injury against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 25.
After going back to retrieve a puck early in the first period, he collided with Senators forward Rourke Chartier before going hard into the boards.
After talking with the players following Tuesday's morning skate ahead of their game against the San Jose Sharks, Aho was on the ice working with Matt Martin, Oliver Wahlstrom, and Grant Hutton, who will serve as extras.
"It's good. He's getting better on a daily basis," Islanders head coach Lane Lambert said. "The fact that he was with the group today was really, really encouraging."
As for an idea on a return date: "No, not yet. But he's getting closer for sure."
Aho has missed the last four games and has four assists in 19 games this season.
