The greatest player to ever lace up the skates, Wayne Gretzky, and New York Islanders legend Butch Goring have a few things in common. Add another thing to that list.

The greatest player to ever lace up the skates, Wayne Gretzky, and New York Islanders legend Butch Goring have a few things in common.

They both played over 1,000 NHL games. Both were named Conn Smythe and Lady Byng winners. Both have hosted Lord Stanley's Cup.

You can now add one more thing to that list of shared achievements.

Goring and former Arizona Coyotes enforcer Paul Bissonnette (seven goals, 15 assists, 202 NHL games), a co-host of the Spittin' Chiclets' podcast and a TNT panel member, have had "Twitter beef" for quite some time, always engaging in what has become a back-and-forth roast contest.

On Biz's birthday, TNT host Liam McHugh bought him a shirt that had Goring's face on it:

Following the Dallas Stars' 5-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night, Gretzky, the greatest player to ever wear skates, joined Goring's "Roast Biz Cub" on TNT's postgame show.

Bissonnette said that he wanted to buy a New York Rangers' Igor Shesterkin jersey.

Gretzky didn't miss a beat, quickly sharing why he believed Biz wanted the sweater of the Rangers' netminder.

"Because, you know why?" Gretzky said to Biz. "You're tied in goals."

McCugh, then said," Well, listen. I'll get you a Goring jersey."

    Here's the clip:

Someone needs to send a body bag to Biz's house immediately.

It's one thing to get roasted. It's another to get roasted by the greatest player of all time. There's really no comeback to be had.

Obviously, it's all in good fun.

At least the positive for Biz is that the roast wasn't actually true. It wasn't too far off though...

Shesterkin, who is having an unbelievable playoff run right now (2.33 GAA, .923 SV%), has made 213 career regular-season appearances and has three assists.
