    NHL rosters were due at 5 PM ET on Monday.

    With training camp in the books, the New York Islanders announced their opening night roster for the 2024-25 season on Monday. 

    The team will carry 13 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goalies.

    Due to their salary cap situation, the Islanders are one player short of the 23-player maximum. 

    Pierre Engvall cleared waivers on Monday to ensure the team's compliance. 

    The Islanders open their season on Thursday against the Utah Hockey Club, with puck drop at 7:30 P.M. at UBS Arena.
