New York Rangers forward Blake Wheeler suffered a lower-body injury at the 11-minute park during the first period of their matchup with the Montreal Canadiens.
With the Rangers battling for the puck down low, Wheeler got tied up with Canadiens defenseman Jayden Struble.
The battle led to Wheeler taking a fall onto his back, with his right leg getting caught under him.
Wheeler was helped off the ice through the Zamboni entrance and was later put on a stretcher.
