The New York Rangers Royal General Manager and Keeper Of Other Titles, Chris Drury, has deep ties all over the National Hockey League including -- as you must already have guessed -- Buffalo.
That doesn't mean that Lord Christopher likes the Western New York metropolis more than, say,

Hudson Yards, Flatbush or even The Bronx Zoo.
But it does mean that he has links there and follows his once-favorite Sabres team with an Argus eye. More specifically, Drury has to be -- or, at least should be -- thinking about adding a certain Sabre, Casey Mittelstadt, to his center ice roster.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period brings this up not saying that Casey is on the block but rather Sabres boss Kevyn Adams "is fielding trade calls."
Of course Adams has to listen to Drury if Chris does -- should -- phone about Mittelstadt who started the season as third center on the Sabres and, also, would not be a rental.
For crying out loud, this will be the 13th straight season that Buffalo will be missing the playoffs.
This cannot go on forever.
As far as The Maven knows, Adams does not have a lifetime contract so he's gotta do something; else he might be fishing for an AHL gig.
Personally, I'd love for the Rangers to nab Casey on account of I've always wanted the Blueshirts to get someone in the lineup who comes from Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
Wouldn't you? (Remember, it never hurts to agree with The Maven!)
