The New York Rangers (26-10-2) host the Vancouver Canucks (25-11-3) tonight at 7 p.m.

The New York Rangers (26-10-2) host the Vancouver Canucks (25-11-3) tonight at 7 p.m. The contest features the second and fourth-best teams in the NHL.  

The Blueshirts defeated the Chicago Blackhawks at home 4-1 but lost in a thrilling contest to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at the Bell Center. Down 3-0,  the Rangers tied the game but could not beat the Habs in a shootout. 

The puck is set to drop at Madison Square Garden at 7:00 p.m. Following tonight's game, the Rangers play the Blues in St. Louis on Thursday night and compete against the Capitals two nights in a row on Sunday, January 13th, and Monday, January 14th. 

Morning Skate Updates: The Rangers skated today at the MSG training facility. Igor Shesterkin/Jonathan Quick(16-8-0, 2.75 GAA, .908 SV%)was the first goaltender off the ice. He was named to the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto and has won six of his last seven starts.

Canucks Notes: Vancouver enters tonight's contest with an 11-7-2 road record this season and a 6-2-3 record in their last ten games.  

The Canucks have two of the top ten point scorers in the NHL this season, Quinn Hughes tallying 49 points and J.T Miller notching 53. Brock Boeser is also tied for 5th best in goals in the NHL with 24 scores.
