Be thankful on this day for family, friends, health, and New York Rangers hockey.

New York is a tough sports market. For a changeup, let's be thankful for what the Rangers have brought to the table on this holiday.

1. New System: The Rangers worked hard in training camp to implement a new system, and it has propelled them to a record-setting 12-3-1 start to the season.

2. Adam Fox Skating Again: Adam Fox joined the team on the road this week and is skating. The club has all the major fix-ins, but Fox may be grandma's gravy to Igor's turkey.

3. July 1st: The uncle that brought all the good desserts. Erik Gustafsson, Jonathan Quick, and Blake Wheeler are the additions that make a meal a feast. The cranberry sauce if you will. That makes Louis Domingue's legacy game the candied yams.

4. Depth Scoring: Whether it's Will Cuylle scoring game-winning goals against the Carolina Hurricanes, or Jimmy Vesey sinking the New Jersey Devils, depth scoring has added to the teams' championship status. Will Cuylle has 44 hits on the season, leading all rookies in the category. They are the mashed potatoes on the plate.

5. Bald Panarin and Lafren-yay: Panarin chopped the flow, but he's delivered a cornucopia of points this season in turn. He's the host of the festivities this season, with 26 points in 17 games. Alexis Lafreniere is 3rd on the team in goals with 8 tallies. He's in the kitchen cheffing up the lavish dinner, having himself a breakout year.

For the sake of community, here is a Peter Laviolette huddle for you. Happy Thanksgiving from The Hockey News.
