Newark, N.J: Jimmy Vesey scored a pair of goals to sink the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.
The 30-year-old winger has skated for 5 other clubs outside of New York, one of those being the Ranger's cross-river rivals.
Vesey had a single goal coming into the contest and hadn't scored a multi-goal game since December 15th, 2022.
His first goal came off of a rebound to take a 2-1 lead 14:11 into the first period. With 2:48 remaining in the game a beautiful play led to Vesey's second goal, the game-winner.
The resilient Rangers won their sixth comeback victory this season. In half of their wins, they trailed their opponent. Vesey said after the game, "I think top to bottom we have a solid team and we believe in ourselves...We're in every game no matter what happens."
The Rangers have 18 third-period goals, more than they have first-period (16) and 2nd period (15) goals, "[In] third periods, we've just seemed to have more juice than the other teams."
He deflected the credit for the victory to his teammates, "I think we're a mature group. Obviously, I think our structure is a big part of that...our back end and goaltending have been awesome."
Vesey wore the cape in a confidence win for the Rangers, who have gone 10-0-1 in their last 11 games.
