The 23-year-old rearguard finished the night with two goals and an assist for the New York Rangers.

New York City, N.Y:  K'Andre Miller recorded a monster 3-point night as the New York Rangers pummeled the Washington Capitals 5-1. He scored two goals, one to tie the game and another to pad the lead in the third period for the Rangers.

Two weeks ago, the budding star took a leave of absence for personal reasons and returned just before the holiday freeze. He had goals for his return post-holiday, "Honestly I don't know I haven't I don't think I've been playing my best hockey, and I went into the break with just some goals coming out of the break, doing a little bit more. Luckily the puck found me tonight."

The 23-year-old defender logged 22:20 of ice time and recorded his third career 3-point game. He is tied for fourth in goals scored by defensemen with 7. Quinn Hughes and Rasmus Dahlin lead the stat category with 10 tucks.

Artemi Panarin who recorded a goal and an assist in the game, said, "That support offensively, he [Miller] does that usually…he was buzzin'. Right? So nice to see him in that shape.”

Following the Rangers win over the Boston Bruins on November 25th, Miller stated, "I think we all know that we have a really good team... I just don't think we've played our best hockey yet which is kind of scary and fun to say." His statement still applies.

Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko are still sidelined. They had been without Adam Fox for a month, and Jacob Trouba left this contest in the third period. At least for the league's best team, Miller is not only back but influential. It is s small step towards the utopia that this team can be. He personifies the Rangers season. There is more to the player and more to this team.

There was a glimpse of that tonight.
