On Thursday, the New York Rangers looked to sweep the season series against their Metropolitan Division rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers.
However, they failed to do so, losing 4-1 for a second straight loss after falling 4-2 to the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.
The Flyers snapped an eight-game skid in the process.
Here's how it happened:
Cam York opened the scoring for the Flyers at 4:21 of the first, beating Rangers netminder Jonathan Quick with a snapshot.
Artemi Panarin evened the score up at one a piece with a power play marker at 18:19 of the first period. Panarin played catch with Mika Zibanejadand and Adam Fox before Fox found him in the slot to drive the puck past Flyers goalie Sam Ersson.
Panarin's goal set a franchise record by recording points in 65 games this season.
The Flyers took a 2-1 lead at 3:29 of the second period on a Bobby Brink goal. Ryan Poehling dropped a pass off to Brink who beat Quick glove side.
Travis Konecny extended the Philadelphia lead to two at 19:13 of the second. Poehling notched another assist on the play.
The Flyers took a 4-1 lead at 5:56 of the third on a Noah Cates goal. Cates elected to drive the net on a two-on-one and made a nifty move to tuck the puck behind Quick.
