Tarrytown, N.Y- The New York Rangers took the ice today at 9:30 ahead of their preseason tilt against the New Jersey Devils, who will be skating brothers Jack and Luke Hughes at Madison Square Garden tonight.
Here's what went down today at training camp this morning (Sept.28th)-
The Game Group:
Kreider-Zibanejad-Lafreniere
Cuylle-Brodzinski-Kakko
Othmann-Bonino-Wheeler
Blidh-Henriksson-Belzile
Miller-Fox
Gustafsson-Schneider
Jones-Emberson
Shesterkin
Domingue
Powerplay Units
Fox, Lafreniere, Cuylle, Zibanejad, Kreider
Miller-Kakko, Wheeler, Othmann, Brodzinski
Brennan Othmann and Will Cuylle continue to get a prime look with NHL regular talents. Both have the potential to earn a roster position.
The Kreider-Zibanejad duo skated with right winger Alexis Lafreniere. They will get repetitions in an in-game situation this evening. Laviolette spoke to the line shakeups early in camp, but has continued to condition this triad together.
The same goes for the K'Andre Miller and Adam Fox pairing. The two young, bombastic rearguards were on display in practice and will have an opportunity to shine under the Broadway lights.
Cuylle and Lafereniere practiced with heavily leaned on power-play specialists in Zibanejad, Kreider, and Fox.
Practicing Group:
Artemi Panarin returned to the ice following a day-to-day injury. Filip Chytil has not skated yet since he exited practice with an upper-body injury on Sept. 21st.
Mac Hollowell did not skate with the game group despite his performance on Tuesday.
Dylan Garand and Johnathan Quick were in the crease for the second skate at the training facility.
The puck drops at Madison Square Garden tonight at 7:00 p.m. for an exhibition "Battle of the Hudson" matchup.
