New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad became the fourth fastest player in club history to reach 500 points, hitting the milestone in 534 games played in their 7-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.

New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad became the fourth fastest player in club history to reach 500 points, hitting the milestone in 534 games played in their 7-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. 

At 8:33 of the second period, Zibanejad won a defensive zone draw before springing Kreider, who scored from distance:

The three players to hit the milepost faster were Mark Messier (406 GP), Bruan Leetch (496 GP), and Andy Bathgate (518 GP). All three players have their sweaters retired by the organization. 

Zibanejad has 46 points (15 goals, 31 assists) in 48 games this season. In eight seasons as a Ranger, he has amassed 501 points (219  goals, 282 assists). 

On Oct. 10, 2021, the 30-year-old pivot signed an eight-year contract worth an AAV of $8.5 million. The Swiss skater will remain in New York until 2029-2030.
