The New York Rangers winning streak ends at the hands of a desperate Minnesota Wild squad.

The New York Rangers lost 5-4 in a shootout to the Minnesota Wild.

Hemmed in their zone on the first few shifts, the Rangers responded with three goals in 3:13 seconds.

Blake Wheeler and Tyler Pitlick recorded their first points as Rangers, Panarin extended his historic point streak to 11 games raising his season total to 18 points. Alexis Lafreniere added an assist, Ryan Lindgren recorded his first point of the year, and Will Cuylle tallied a point in back-to-back games.

On 4 shots, Filip Gustavsson surrendered 3 goals and was yanked. Marc Andre Fleury replaced him.

From that point forward, the Wild played for their paychecks. Coming into the game at 3-5-2, they threw the kitchen sink at Johnathan Quick, who finished the game with 36 saves on 40 shots faced.

In rapid succession, the Rangers surrendered two goals in the second period, tilting the ice in favor of Minnesota. Then, former New York Ranger Mats Zuccarello tied the game 1:41 into the third frame and Marco Rossi ripped home the go-ahead goal at 5:20.

Chris Kreider knotted the game at 4-4 on a tip-in with 8 minutes remaining, passing Andy Bathgate for 4th place in club history (273).

The Blueshirts were stuck in their zone for 4 minutes to end regulation, did not get a shot on goal in overtime, and were sunk in the shootout from a whacky Matt Boldy goal.

The Rangers win streak ends at 6 games. They will play the booming Detroit Red Wings this upcoming Tuesday, November 7th at Madison Square Garden.
