They hold an 18-5-1 record through the first quarter of the season, are third in power play percentage (29.73%), lead the NHL in faceoff win percentage (56.1%), and are third in penalty killing (83.33%).
Star winger Artemi Panarin is 3rd in the NHL in points. Vincent Trocheck leads the entire NHL in face-off wins percentage (63.3%). The Rangers are the only club that has four defensemen who have 12 or more points.
With that, there have been some underlying issues that, if the team was losing, would be magnified. Blake Wheeler's production is at the top of the list.
