The New York Rangers dug in and emerged victorious against the Carolina Hurricanes without Filip Chytil and Adam Fox.

New York, N.Y- The Rangers continued their red-hot play on a power play goal from Mr. PPG, Chris Kreider 2:41 into the game. That would tie him for fourth in goals in club history. The team's confidence was vibrant, the Garden erupting. The team looked like a well-oiled machine.

But the fast-track roller coaster got wobbly. Seth Jarvis tied the game, and Adam Fox was clipped by Sebastian Aho knee on knee. Fox got up on his own but did not return to play.

Peter Laviolette was not pleased, "He's trying to get out of the way and the knee comes out. I didn't like the hit."

Several high-stick calls were missed, and Filip Chytil then left the bench late in the second period.

Down the team's Norris-winning defender and blossoming 2C, the Rangers dug in and made adjustments.

That started with head coach Peter Laviolette speaking to the team, "In between periods I thought we needed more bite in our game from that second period not going our way we needed a good response...we were too slow and not moving our feet."

He pointed to the change in pace that followed, "That is what I like to see when we come back in the third and we got back to the attack offensively."

Will Cuylle broke the tie 10:21 into the final frame. Shesterkin came up with a plethora of saves to close the game out, the Rangers winning 2-1.

Jacob Trouba had praise for the coaching staff following the match, "I think the coaches put the players in a great position of knowing your job when you're on the ice, whether we're in a 1-3-1 or going hard. Every player knows their job and that's kind of a nod to the coaching staff that the guys can just fill in their spots and continue to play.”

The Rangers have won six straight games, and hold an 8-2-0 record heading into Minnesota on Saturday, November 4th.
