If you like reading, take a look at this book.

It's called "Game Winners – The Greatest Game Winning Goals In Hockey History", by Russ Cohen and there's plenty for Rangers fans including Matteau, Matteau, Matteau.

What I like – among many things – is that the authors offer "background" for each goal and then they each separately take a crack at the analysis.

Less remembered than Matteau – but no less significant – was Derek Stepan's overtime series-winner over Washington in May 2015. "With it," Blittner asserts, "the Rangers made history as the first team in NHL history to come back from a three-one-series deficit in back-to-back playoff years."

Another one I like – the Rangers certainly did – is titled "The Great One's First New York Hatty." That was at The Garden on April 23, 1997.

Wayne Gretzky was a 36- year old Ranger up against the Panthers in the Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals Game Four.

Wayne beat former Ranger John Vanbiesbrouck first on a power play, then a two-on-one with Luc Robitaille and, finally, a shot off the goal post at 9:30 of the middle period.

Blittner-Cohen didn't fool around. They go deep into NHL history including Mud Bruneteau's 1936 overtime goal for Detroit against Montreal which settled the longest game in league history.

Not to be overlooked is a splendid Forward by Rangers playoff hero Peter Stemkowski. (Sportsology is the publisher.)
