No backtalk, please!
Granted no game is easy but tonight's match with the Calgary Flames should be two points in the Wild Card Bank without breathing too hard.
No! Make that MUST BE two points; no questions asked.
The Flames got clobbered 6-2 last night in Toronto and should be sitting ducks at The Garden – but ONLY if the Rangers play their A game.
"No question New York was better overall than Edmonton on Sunday," says The Old Scout, "but Stu Skinner aced out Igor Shesterkin in goal and that was the game."
Well, not quite. The Biggies - alias Fat Cats Breadman Panarin, Vin Trocheck, Big Al Lafreniere, Magic Mika – failed to score. That's N.G. as in No Good.
"Will Cuylle is having a heckuva season," adds The Old Scout, "but that means diddly-squat if the top scorers don't score. Willie can't carry this team although sometimes he tries."
The Old Scout: "The Rangers have the Wild Card edge right now but it's so tenuous with Montreal coming on strong and the Islanders hangin' in there."
What The Scout is trying to say is: TWO POINTS OR BUST!
