The New York Rangers officially announced Adam Edström will be out for two and a half to three and a half months with a lower-body injury.

Edström suffered this apparent injury on Saturday afternoon against the Boston Bruins as he left the game early and did not return.

While Edström was absent for Sunday night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights, his status was officially cleared up on Tuesday before the team’s practice.

The 24-year-old forward has recorded five goals, four assists and nine points in 51 games while averaging 9:16 minutes.
