Adam Fox seems to be gearing up for a return at some point soon.
Fox traveled with the New York Rangers for their three-game road trip and has skated in a non-contact jersey for two consecutive practices.
When asked about Fox’s injury, Peter Laviolette didn’t dive into many specifics, but the Rangers coach feels optimistic about his progression.
“Nothing’s changed with him. That’s great he’s out on the ice and progressing, but he’s on IR still,” Peter Laviolette said.
The 27-year-old defenseman has missed the past seven games with an upper-body injury that he suffered against the Islanders on Feb. 25.
In that game against the Islanders, Fox fell hard to the ice and was seen laboring his left shoulder before quickly making his way to the locker room.
It’s unclear if Fox will come back during this road trip.
