Adam Fox will likely return to the New York Rangers’ lineup on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Fox was a full participant during Saturday’s practice for the first time since suffering an upper-body injury on Feb. 25.
Fox was placed on injured reserve and has missed the past eight games.
While not officially confirming Fox’s return, Peter Laviolette said that the 27-year-old defenseman is “trending” on playing.
Fox is coming back at the right time as the Rangers are tied with the Blue Jackets are tied for the second wild card spot with this game holding a tremendous amount of weight.
“It's a massive game,” Vincent Trocheck said. “We all know the implications.”
Carson Soucy, a defenseman the Rangers went out and acquired from the Vancouver Canucks before the NHL Trade Deadline, is expected to be a healthy scratch if Fox does indeed play.
