The New York Rangers have reportedly placed Adam Fox on injured reserve.
Fox suffered an upper-body injury during the Rangers’ 5-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.
He fell hard to the ice and was seen laboring his left shoulder before quickly making his way to the locker room.
With Fox on injured reserve, the Rangers have recalled Matthew Robertson from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
There is optimism that Fox will be back before the season’s end as he isn’t expected to miss a substantial amount of time.
The 27-year-old defenseman has recorded five goals, 43 assists and 48 points in 58 games while averaging 23:14 minutes per game.
