Alexis Lafrenière is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
The New York Rangers practiced at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Monday afternoon and Lafrenière was not on the ice with the team.
When asked about it following practice, Rangers coach Peter Laviolette confirmed that Lafrenière is day-to-day and did not reveal whether or not he will play in Tuesday night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens.
“I don’t think we should speak on speculation,” Laviolette said. “I can’t comment on tomorrow yet.”
The 23-year-old has recorded three goals, three assists and six points through the first five games of the season as he’s been red hot to start the year.
Lafrenière was seen skating after the Rangers’ practice, which is certainly a positive sign.
