Both Artemi Panarin and Ryan Lindgren returned to the ice for the New York Rangers on Sunday.

Panarin and Lindgren skated on their own prior to the Rangers’ practice as they both are recovering from their own respective injuries.

The more serious case is Lindgren’s who is week-to-week with an upper-body injury, which was sustained after fighting Scott Mayfield in the preseason.

The 26-year-old defenseman has missed a handful of practices and today marks the first time he was seen skating, so that’s a good sign for his eventual return.

It’s still unclear how long Lindgren will be out for.

Meanwhile, Panarin suffered a lower-body injury during New York’s fifth preseason game and hasn’t practiced with the team ever since.

The 32-year-old forward is just listed as day-to-day with the injury not seeming overly serious especially since he is already back on the ice, given he did skate on his own.

While Panarin shouldn’t be sidelined long term, his status for the Rangers’ opening night game this upcoming Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins remains a mystery.
