They all laughed at Christopher Columbus when he said the world was round. They all laughed when Edison discovered sound.

They all laughed at The Maven when I said – when New York got him – that J.T. Miller would become the Rangers new Mark Messier.

Well, who's got the last laugh now? The Maven! Sean Avery, too. (See below for Sean)

Or, did you not see Mister Miller putting you in the mood last night during the 4-0 blanking of the Islanders at The Garden?

J.T. – as in Just Terrific – extended his point streak to six games – or five goals and five assists for ten points – which also can be translated into four wins in five games.

"The Rangers have taken care of the teams they had to beat," says The Old Scout. "The next  big test is tomorrow at home against Washington. With the head of steam they've built, they're

in shape to knock off the elites."

Since it takes one to know one, it's worth digesting former Ranger Sean Avery's thoughts on J.T. Obviously S.A. and The Maven are on the same page.

"J.T. is proving why people should not listen to certain armchair general managers," tweeted Avery. "Miller is exactly the number one center the Rangers needed; not an Elias Petterson."

Then a pause: "It's all about what a team needs, not what will look good on paper."

GM Chris Drury has until Friday's Trade Deadline to determine what else – if anything – his Blueshirts require to nail down the coveted playoff berth.

Obviously with two straight shutouts, the Jonathan Quick-Igor Shesterkin combo is running on all cylinders, also carbs – with batteries also included.

But at a time like this, we must be realistic. J.T. Miller cannot do it alone; nor the goalies nor the energized kids.

And if Sleepy Time Guy Alexis Lafreniere still is with the team by the Trade Deadline, him too!

Ergo: If these Blueshirts all pull on the same rope, they'll cross The Finish Line and into Playoff Land!
