According to Mollie Walker of The New York Post, Brett Berard was forced to pull out of the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship due to physical limitations.

Walker reports that Berard’s agent has been in touch with the International Ice Hockey Federation and Team USA regarding his client sitting out of the international tournament for what appears to be a minor issue.

This isn’t reported to be a serious injury as he’s expected to fully train this offseason and be ready for the start of training camp.

The 22-year-old got his first taste of NHL action this past season, playing 35 games and recording six goals, four assists, and 10 points while averaging 10:43 minutes.

The other New York Rangers players playing at the World Championship include Mika Zibanejad, Will Cuylle, Juuso Pärssinen, and Dylan Garand.
