Filip Chytil has officially entered concussion protocol after taking a hit from Jason Dickinson on Saturday night.
Dickinson hit Chytil from behind. His head collided with the boards, and when he tried to get up, he fell back down before slowly making his way to the bench.
According to Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet, Chytil is feeling OK but is in the concussion protocol.
The Canucks are expected to monitor Chytil’s status over the next 48 hours and make a decision if he'll join the team on an upcoming six-game road trip.
The 25-year-old was all set to make his return to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers, his former team on Mar. 22, but this injury may push back the homecoming.
Chytil’s issues with concussions are well documented. He’s already suffered a few concussions during his time with the Rangers.
The Canucks have not placed Chytil on injured reserve or long-term injured reserve as of right now.
