Filip Chytil made his return from an upper-body injury on Saturday afternoon after missing seven games.
With a history of concussions, many feared that Chytil suffered yet another head injury after colliding with K’Andre Miller.
However, Chytil stayed positive throughout the whole process as he knows his body better than anybody else.
It turned out that Chytil did not suffer a concussion.
“I know my body, I know what’s going on — even with my head,” Chytil said. “I know what I went through last year. It’s been hard. [There’s] been hard moments. I say all the time, I’m staying positive in every situation. When there is an opportunity to be back and my whole body feels great, I jump back in. I’m happy, after two weeks, I could play today.”
Despite the positive reports about his concussion status, the Rangers were careful with Chytil and only cleared him to return after making sure he was fully healthy.
In his first game back, the 25-year-old played 13:51 minutes and overall he looked pretty comfortable out there.
Now, Chytil just wants to keep playing his game and stay healthy.
“It’s not easy when you’re feeling good out there and then you miss two weeks and you have to jump back,” Chytil said. “But I think every shift I was feeling better. Now, just need to keep going like that. I want to be healthy for the rest of the season.”
