Legendary Rangers defenseman and former captain Ryan McDonagh has been traded from the Predators to the Lightning.

Former New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.

The Lightning sent a 2025 second-round draft choice and 2024 seventh-round selection to the Predators for McDonagh and the Edmonton Oilers' 2024 fourth-round pick.

Tampa Bay actually traded McDonagh to Nashville back in 2022, so everything now goes back full circle.

The legendary defenseman served as captain of the Rangers from 2014-2018 before he was ultimately traded to the Lightning.

This past season in Nashville, McDonagh recorded three goals, 29 assists and 32 points in 74 games.
