    1. If Mark Messier had been captain of last night's team, the Rangers' collective ears would have been burned off by Midnight.

    2. Laviolette has let months go by without naming a captain. Instead Mika appears with redundant post-game drivel, game after game.

    3. And now from a few critics: The Post's Larry Brooks says, "The Rangers look like a team that can't wait for the season to end."

    4. Blue Collar Blue Shirts' Sean McCaffrey says, "Send in the clowns." What does that tell me? (See below.)

    5. Now we know why The Garden dropped the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. (With these Rangers, who needs a circus?)

    6. Mollie Walker of The Post says, "The Rangers repeatedly fail to help themselves." (That tells me they need a shrink. Maybe six.)

    7. If the Rangers were rowing in Central Park Lake and fell in the water, they would not need a flotation device. As Ms. Walker points out, "They continue to float!"

    8. Via the insightful Steve Gelbs: "It was an inexcusable performance in a season full of them."  And reader Bubba: "No heart. No effort!"

    9. Age should not make a difference; Will Cuylle should be captain.

    10. Finally; and here's what hurts most. "In my near 43 years, I can't think of any other game where a  Blueshirts team – full of individual talent as this squad – having displayed such a lack of effort and dedication as they did." From Blue Collar Blueshirts' publisher Sean McCaffrey who has watched the Rangers for four decades.

    'Nuff said.
