Here's a look back at some Rangers history from The Maven.

You know your hockey if you can answer this in ten seconds or less: When did a Rangers training camp get cancelled before it even began?

ANSWER: Prior to the 2001-02 season, the Blueshirts decided to have their camp at Madison Square Garden. It would mark the first time in 76 years that the camp would be in Manhattan and in The Garden itself.

Originally the plan was to have the camp at Chelsea Piers but there was not enough locker room space for all the players.

Moving it uptown a few blocks was simple and players began arriving for fitness tests in the second week of September.

It would be open to fans, and tickets went on sale at the box office at 9 a.m. Stars Eric Lindros and Theo Fleury were expected to greet fans in the lobby. It was September 11, 2001.

But the camp never opened. The terrorist attacks that soon erupted at the World Trade Center cancelled that camp!

The NHL postponed team activities because of the attacks.
