You would be hard put to find a connection between Easter Sunday and the Rangers but there is one, if you don't mind The Maven stretching a point.

When the Blueshirts played their home games at old Madison Square Garden the arena organist, Gladys (Two D's) Goodding played a song for each of the Original Six NHL teams.

Plus, when the Rangers farm team – the New York Rovers – played on Sunday afternoons, Ms. Goodding played for the Redshirts as well.

Remarkably, the Rovers theme song was Irving Berlin's classic "Easter Parade." Why "Easter Parade?"

According to the legend, Gladys equated Easter Sundah to the Eastern League playoff time –  and since the Rovers were in the postseason every year – Goodding figured that it was as good a theme aa any!
