For J.T. Miller and Vincent Trocheck, playing alongside each other in the NHL is a dream come true.
Miller and Trocheck grew up in Pittsburgh together as the two were inseparable from a young age.
They played their youth hockey years on the same team. Trocheck admitted Miller has been his best friend in the world since childhood.
Many, many years later, Miller and Trocheck now both bleed the same red, white and blue Rangers jersey, transforming their childhood aspirations from a dream to a reality.
“This has been a pipe dream for 10 years in the making,” Trocheck said. “We came in the league around the same time, grew up together since we were 9 years old, live about 500 yards from each other back in Pittsburgh, our kids are really close. … We’ve been talking about it forever. It means a lot.”
According to Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today, Trocheck, was a big advocate of this trade for Miller.
As part of his due diligence on Miller, Mollie Walker of The New York Post confirmed that Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury spoke to Trocheck.
By the way things are looking, Trocheck is trending on becoming the next captain of the Rangers and the two centermen may be teammates for years to come, growing their friendship even deeper.
