J.T. Miller is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss the New York Rangers’ Saturday night matchup against the Utah Mammoth.
After not practicing on Saturday, Mike Sullivan addressed the media and confirmed that Miller suffered this upper-body injury during Thursday night’s game against the Colorado Avalanche.
“We'll take it as it comes right now,” Sullivan said of Miller’s injury status. “He's day-to-day. Tough guy to replace.”
Sullivan did not specify if Miller would miss more than one game.
Without Miller at practice, Sullivan reconnected the Artemi Panarin-Vincent Trocheck-Alexis Lafrenière trio while moving Jonny Brodzinski up to the top six on a line with Mika Zibanejad and Will Cuylle.
Cuylle is also expected to fill Miller’s role on the Rangers’ first power-play unit.
Mike Sullivan Address Defensive Effort With Artemi Panarin
The defensive play of Artemi Panarin is something that has been addressed by Mike Sullivan.
Will Borgen, who missed the team’s last game in Colorado with an upper-body injury, did not practice today in Utah and is slated not to play in tonight’s game.
