Jacob Trouba is reportedly not happy with how everything has unfolded with the Rangers' handling of his future this offseason.

The New York Rangers situation with Jacob Trouba is turning into a mess.

The Rangers are reportedly looking to move Trouba with the Red Wings seeming to be the frontrunners in a trade.

Now, the Rangers captain is left with his feelings hurt.

“Monday is the day that Jacob Trouba’s no-move clause transforms to a 15-team no-trade list,” The New York Post’s Larry Brooks wrote. “There are apparently hurt feelings on the part of the captain, maybe even deservedly so over the way the club’s intentions were splashed all over the papers and the internet last week.”

There have been rumblings of a potential deal that would send Trouba to the Red Wings as the Rangers are reportedly considering Trouba’s personal preferences into account since he also has a 15-team no-trade list.

It is rare to move on from a team captain in this sort of fashion, but the Rangers are looking to clear cap space and Trouba’s $8 million cap hit is simply too high for them.

New York had a similar situation when they waived Barclay Goodrow and reports indicated that he was not happy with how the Rangers organization handled the situation.

The future of Trouba should become more clear later today.
