New York Rangers coach Peter Laviolette announced that forward Jimmy Vesey will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
He also confirmed that Vesey will not make the trip with the Rangers to Florida for Games 3 and 4 against the Panthers.
Through 12 playoff games this year, Vesey has one goal, two assists and three points while averaging 11:11 minutes of ice time.
The 30-year-old left Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final in the second period after taking a hit from Ryan Lomberg and ultimately did not return for New York’s 2-1 overtime victory.
It is not clear who will replace Vesey in the lineup, but Blake Wheeler is available to play and Kaapo Kakko is another forward that Laviolette could plug into the lineup.
