Jonathan Quick is expected to make his first start of the year for the New York Rangers on Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

According to Mollie Walker of The New York Post, Jonathan Quick was the first goalie off the ice during Thursday’s practice, indicating that he’ll start.

Shesterkin has played all three regular season games for the Rangers thus far including one against the Red Wings on Monday night.

After acquiring Quick during the summer of 2023, he played a pretty good chunk of games last season.

The 38-year–old started 26 games, posting a 18-6-2 record, 2.62 goals against average and .911 save percentage.

Quick’s steady play earned him a one-year contract extension worth $1.275 million.
