According to Mollie Walker of The New York Post, Kenny Albert will replace Sam Rosen as the New York Rangers' new play-by-play voice.

Rosen is set to retire, ending a 40-year run as the Rangers' full-time television voice on MSG Network.

Albert is no stranger to the Rangers. He’s been the Rangers radio voice for 29 years since the 1995-96 season.

Over the years, Albert has grown a strong admiration for Rosen while also building a close-knit friendship with the legendary broadcaster.

“He's one of the greatest of all time,” Albert said of Rosen. “I’ve been listening to Sam for 40 years now since he started with the Rangers in 84 and have been really close with Sam. Since 95 when I started with the Rangers, we've sat next to each other on the team charter flights. Now, for 29 years, we spent a lot of time talking about hockey and other sports and our families. I’m so Sam's a great man, a tremendous broadcaster, and so happy to see all the accolades that he's received this season.”

On top of his responsibilities with the Rangers, Albert is also the lead NHL play-by-play voice for TNT.

Albert will take over as the new Rangers play-by-play voice effective next season.
