Kyle Okposo is likely to play for the Panthers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Rangers.

Florida Panthers forward Kyle Okposo could play tonight against the New York Rangers for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final.

Panthers reporter George Richards reported that Okposo and Steven Lorentz filled in at practice for Ryan Lomberg and Nick Cousins.

The Panthers traded for Okposo from the Buffalo Sabres at the NHL Trade Deadline this year.

Stan Fischler On Rangers Cup Chances

The 36-year-old has played in eight playoffs games, tallying just two points and has been absent from the Eastern Conference Final thus far.

While not made official by the team, Panthers coach Paul Maurice said he could change one or both of the wings on that fourth line and Richards reported that Okposo seems to be in.

Okposo is a name that many hockey fans in New York know of due to his nine seasons with the New York Islanders and eight seasons with the Buffalo Sabres.

Inserting Okposo into the lineup is likely a move to create some sort of spark with the Rangers holding a 2-1 series lead.
