The Toronto Maple Leafs are preparing for Matt Rempe and the New York Rangers.
Ryan Reaves hasn’t been slotted into Toronto’s lineup in 24 days, but Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube is bringing out his secret weapon for one reason and one reason only.
“Rempe over there. He’s an effective player.” Berube said about why he is inserting Reaves into the lineup.
Last season, Rempe and Reaves got into a fight as it almost felt like a heavyweight boxing match.
Following their fight, the two enforcers had nothing but positive things to say about each other with the respect very prevalent on both sides.
“He’s going to be a menace in this league,” said Reaves of Rempe.
“That guy is a legend. That guy has been one of the most feared men in the league for 15 years,” Rempe said of Reaves.
On Friday night we could see Rempe Vs. Reaves Part Two, and that would certainly be entertaining.
