Hartford Wolf Pack coach Grant Potulny is pleased from what he has seen from Matt Rempe thus far.

Matt Rempe is starting to find his way with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

In the Wolf Pack’s 4-2 victory over the Providence Bruins on Saturday, Rempe scored his first goal of the season off a beautiful shot on a two-on-one opportunity.

Rempe also recorded an assist while posting a game-high seven shots, in what was a dominant performance from the big man.

Through his time in Hartford thus far, the 22-year-old has played on both the wing and at center, allowing him to experience all sorts of situations.

Wolf Pack coach Grant Potulny has been impressed with Rempe’s versatility and is happy with what he has been able to provide for the team.

“He’s played fantastic,” Grant Potulny said about Rempe. “You’re always moving guys around … He’s good on the dot (at center) but it’s good when a player can be versatile and can play more than one position. It brings them more value to their personal game.”

Rempe started the year with the Rangers and played in just three games. The Rangers felt it was better for his development to play a larger role with the Wolf Pack.

Over seven games in the AHL this season, Rempe has recorded one goal, one assist and two points, but it seems he is continuing to get better and more comfortable in his new role.
