With Jonny Brodzinski expected to be in the New York Rangers’ lineup for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final it looks as if Matt Rempe will be a healthy scratch.
According to Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today, Brodzinski practiced on the Rangers’ second power play unit, which is a big indicator that he will be playing tonight.
While Peter Laviolette didn’t make an official announcement, Mercogliano feels that Brodzinski will come in for Rempe.
Rempe only saw 2:43 minutes of ice time in Game 5 and has struggled to record over 10 minutes each game through the playoffs.
If Brodzinski is indeed playing tonight, Rempe seems to be the most likely candidate to take a seat in the press box.
Filip Chytil is also potentially an option to be a healthy scratch as he did not play in Game 4 of this series due to precautionary reasons with his concussion problem, but it’s hard to see Chytil not playing in a game of this magnitude.
Despite Rempe providing a strong physical spark, Laviolette may be looking for more offensive touch and speed, something Brodzinski is capable of bringing to this team.
