    The New York Rangers agreed to terms with forward Jonny Brodzinski to a two-year extension on Wednesday.

    The New York Rangers agreed to terms with forward Jonny Brodzinski to a two-year extension on Wednesday.

    The New York Rangers announced on Wednesday that the team agreed to terms with forward Jonny Brodzinski on a two-year, $1.575 million contract extension. The deal is a one-way contract and will carry an average cap hit of $787,500 annually. 

    Brodzinski earned a full-time role with the big club this season, playing in 37 games at the NHL level and tallying four goals and 11 assists. He has earned a prominent role in the team's bottom-six, playing alongside Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko.

    He joined the team in 2020, signing on as depth for the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack. He's stuck around with the Rangers as a depth option over the past few seasons, signing multiple extensions prior to Wednesday's deal. 

    Brodzinski served as Hartford's captain since 2021-22, totaling 56 goals and 73 assists in 113 games with the Wolf Pack. Prior to this season, he earned played 44 games with the Rangers between 2020-21 and 2022-23 seasons. 

    Across his NHL career, he's spent time with the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks organizations, boasting 138 games of NHL experience with 13 goals and 19 assists.
