
Tonight in Columbus, the New York Rangers fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets, losing 4-2, snapping their 10-game winning streak.
Blue Jackets goalie, Elvis Merzlikins made 38 saves to earn the win.

It didn't take long for this game to get heated.
Matt Rempe fought for the fourth time in his NHL career, as this time he took on Mathieu Olivier 2:12 into the game.
Columbus scored first, 4:34 into the game with a terrific quick passing play. Damon Severson sent the puck into the corner for Kirill Marchenko who then sent it across the crease for Dimitri Voronkov to tap it in.
Artemi Panarin tied the game at one for the Rangers with an incredible short angle snipe. He roofed it past Merzlikins with 5:38 left in the first period. Adam Fox had the lone assist.
Both teams were shooting heavily in the first period, with Columbus registering 16 compared to 14 from New York. The score was tied 1-1 at the break.
Marchenko only needed 18 seconds of the second period to re-claim the Jackets' lead. He skillfully dangled around Quick and put the puck into the net to make it 2-1. Voronkov and Chinakhov assisted.
The Rangers would not go away as Adam Edstrom scored his second career goal at 11:11 to tie the game 2-2. Rempe recorded his first assist in the NHL by driving towards the net and giving the puck to Edstrom who jammed it in.
The game was only tied for 46 seconds as Jack Roslovic made it 3-2. He finished off a 2-on-1 pass from Johnny Gaudreau. Boone Jenner had the secondary assist.
Ivan Provorov doubled the Blue Jackets lead with 1:25 left in the second period. Gaudreau gave the puck to Roslovic, who hit a streaking Provorov, before ripping it past the goaltender Quick.
Columbus carried a 4-2 lead into the third period. Shots were 14-8 in favor of the Blue Jackets in the middle frame.
The game swung back and forth in the third, and with 2:19 remaining the Rangers had their chance. Dmitri Voronkov was called for a face-off violation, putting his hand on the puck, pushing the puck behind him after the puck was dropped.
Merzlikins stood tall however while the Blue Jackets were shorthanded, and the penalty was killed.
The Rangers were unable to score late on the power play, and with goalie Jonathan Quick on the bench. Columbus stood tall, and the ten-game Rangers winning-streak came to an end, falling to the Blue Jackets 4-2.
The Blueshirts return home to face the Blue Jackets once again Wednesday at The Garden.
