Kevin Weekes posted something to his X account indicating a potential contract extension between Igor Shesterkin and the Rangers.

Kevin Weekes of ESPN hinted at what a potential Igor Shesterkin will look like with the New York Rangers.

Weekes posted a picture of the New York City skyline with “$11.5?” caption indicating that Shesterkin could be set to sign a contract extension worth $11.5 million per season.

It was Weekes who initially reported prior to the start of the season that Shesterkin rejected an eight-year, $88 million contract from the Rangers, which would have made him the highest paid goalie in NHL history.

Since that point, Shesterkin has had a magnificent start to the year, recording a 6-2-1 record, 2.22 goals against average and .933 save percentage.

Weekes did not elaborate on his possible hint while there have been no other developments regarding any sort of progress being made on a contract extension.
