

The New York Rangers face-off against the Montreal Canadiens The Garden tonight, as they enter the season's homestretch. After tonight's contest, the Blueshirts will only have have four games remaining (three at MSG, one on the road vs. the Islanders).

*To precede the game, on-ice ceremony will take place to announce the winner of the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award. The "Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award" has been presented each season to the Ranger who, chosen by the fans, “goes above and beyond the call of duty.”
The 2021 Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award is presented to Adam Fox #23 of the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.*On home ice, the Rangers own a 27-10-0 record and has been victorious in 12 of its last 15 home games.
*Against Montreal, the Blueshirts have garnered points in seven of their last nine tilts since February of 2020.
*Goalie Cayden Primeau will start for the Canadiens after making 18 saves backing up of Sam Montembeault Saturday vs.the Toronto Maple Leafs.
*Matt Rempe, who was scratched Friday in Detroit, will be back in the lineup tonight.
*Zac Jones will step into the lineup for Erik Gustafsson, after being a healthy scratch the past two games.
